When travelling in and around Durham city you will need to use either Arriva or Go North East bus services. Local buses offer a very cheap and regular service, with connections to most areas in County Durham and Tyne and Wear. Bus timetables can be obtained from the bus station in North Road, Durham or from the Language Centre office. Explorer tickets are very good value. You can travel anywhere in the North East and North Yorkshire on all buses, metro service, Shields ferry and mainline trains between Newcastle and Sunderland. Day Rover tickets are also good value. You can travel around Tyne and Wear, and your ticket is valid on all buses, metro service, and ferries.
