Scale/Offset: The 1336 IMPACT drive has multiple analog inputs and outputs. Each of these I/O signals has both a scale and an offset parameter. These parameters are used to configure each signal for a desired value or range. Equipment Setup: Use the AC vs. DC motor dyne with the chart recorder and Drive Tools. This lab assumes the student is already familiar with basic programming of drive parameters and links. 1397 1336 Impact Lab Setup: The 1336 IMPACT Start-Up will not require the 1397 DC drive. Press the E-Stop button on the 1397 demo to “disable” the drive. All of the analog inputs and outputs have an offset and a scale parameter associated with them. To properly set each of these parameters, the drive units (internal scaling) must be understood. The internal drive units are scaled as, 4096 = 1 per unit, which restated also means: 4096 = base speed for parameters with engineering units in RPM 4096 = motor FLA for parameters with engineering units in Amps 4096 = base motor volts for parameters with engineering units in volts 4096 = 100% for parameters with engineering units in %, etc. ANALOG INPUT FLOW DIAGRAM INPUT Bipolar input capability. A/D CONVERTOR Output of A/D converter is 10 volts = 2048 internal units. The scale parameter 101 must multiply by 2 for full scale (4096) signal value in parameter 99 to the microprocessor. OFFSET The offset can be used to enable bipolar operation of a 0-10v signal. (i.e.; an offset of -5 will make a 0-10v input look like a -5v to +5v signal) It can also be used to make up for imperfections in the input signal. SCALE The scale is used to multiply the signal for the desired full scale operation. (2048 x 2 = 4096) Example scenarios: If a 0-5volt signal is used as the speed reference the output of the A/D converter will be 0-1024. If
