And as we all know, The Lady of the Camellias was the first foreign novel that entered our country. It played an important role in modern Chinese literature. It was a tragic love story between Marguerite Gautier, a prostitute and a young bourgeois, Armand Duval. Marguerite was not only a prostitute but also a beautiful girl with pure heart.
