Dura Bar can often be used to replace castings, some carbon steels, bearing bronze at times and extruded aluminum materials. Due to its outstanding milling and drilling characteristics, heavily machined components are usually excellent candidates for Dura Bar products to help reduce manufacturing costs. Cast Irons are not typically referenced by chemistry rather mechanical properties, specifically strength and hardness. The primary difference in these types is the shape and distribution of graphite
