Jane Austen’s innovative usage of verbal irony, situational irony and dramatic irony helps the reader to fully comprehend the language, the situation and characters’ inner feeling, story plot and the theme of the novel. In this paper, most cases of verbal irony, situational irony and dramatic irony related to Darcy in the novel are picked up as typical examples.
