Learn more about the discovery of gold... The Society:If you moved to a far away place, where would you live? It would be scary to move to a new country, state, or town and not know where to go or what to do… Eventually small mining towns developed near places where gold was prevalent. The first mining settlements Now that you know more about the Gold Rush…would you risk everything to find gold in California? The hardships of traveling and starting a new life with an uncertain outcome is worth the chance of discovering gold at the end of the California Rainbow. * * This is designed as a hook to gain students’ interest. The goal is for the students to take on the role of a historian and draw their own conclusion about the California Gold Rush.
