Get familiar with the formulae of introducing and identifying people; 2. Get familiar with the common classroom English; 3. Distinguish clearly among the consonants of /u/ , / u:/, / / , / a: /, / / , / /, / /; 4. Have a thorough understanding of the whole text: American Homes and British Homes ; 5. Get a list of the new words, expressions and grammatical structures and be able to use them freely in writing and daily conversation; II. Listening and Speaking Activities 1. Fill in the blanks of the short paragragh Classroom English and ask students to practice using it. 2. Listen to the two conversations and choose the correct answers to each question. 3. Ask students to role play one of the two conversations. 1. Pre-reading discussions: 1) What is your home like? 2) Do you want to live in America or Britain, if you have a choice?
