Abstract:The article analyzes the significance of the adoption of Teaching Portfolio by investigating the currency of teachers’ assessment, including the form. At last the Teaching Portfolio is brought forth as a solution.

1 The Currency of Teachers’ Assessment
Usually, schools will adopt reward and punishment evaluation system, because this system can count and distribute efficiently. But, we can see the teachers’ job is different from others, since this job has the significance of development, so the reward and punishment evaluation system can only help to make a system of distributing money but not a system of developing the teachers’ profession. The development evaluation can give the teachers a platform to develop their skill and professions, while it is not convenient to be monitored, whether the teachers have done enough preparation or whether they have made the class effective can not be told; The Value-Added Method of Evaluation can encourage teachers to improve students’ scores and it is an important way to assess teachers’ performance. But it is hard to distinguish the input and output, and this method will make teachers focus more on the major courses.
So, not a single system can fix all the problems. Only when we can put reward and punishment evaluation system and the Development evaluation system together, can we really fulfill the teachers’ Development. Then the adoption of a new type of assessment is necessary.
2 The Current Form of Teachers’ Professional Development
Of course, schools will encourage teachers to develop the professions by the following ways:
