Ive been playing Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (MMORPGs) since the beta release of Microsofts Asherons Call game in June of 1999 (Asherons Call is now owned by its developer, Turbine). This doesnt set me apart from a number of gamers that began playing MMORPGs a long time ago (those who began with Ultima Online have been playing since 1998, those playing text based MUDs have been playing even longer), but it does give you an idea of how long Ive been around. The Vault Network is the largest compilation of MMORPG fansites on the internet, and is run by the corporate entity known as IGN Entertainment. The Vault Network board system is the most frequently used board system on the entire internet, and from this board system a large number of varying opinions has been introduced to me in regards to MMORPG designs, what gamers want, and what games are built with inherent flaws. Being an Associate Editor for the IGN Vault Network has allowed me access to the developers of most of the major development teams (SOE, Turbine, NCSofts myriad teams, etc.), and this allows me to get an additional perspective on MMORPG design, and gives me an
