General 1.1 This procedure is applied to dye liquid penetrant examination of metal material and weldment for ASME Code items. 1.2 This procedure is only suitable for detecting the defects that are open to the surface of material or weldment. 1.3 This procedure shall be demonstrated to the satisfaction of the AI prior to implementation.
