Description of students: 40 senior3 students who are curious about the new surrounding. They have already had a basic reading skill, however they are lacking in the background knowledge of he United Kingdom, such as history, geography, and culture etc. But they have a great interest in learning about cultural differences. Students certainly can solve some of their puzzles in this cultural field. 三. Teaching aims A. Knowledge aim: Students will learn about the history, geography, structure and places of interest of United Kingdom; let students master key vocabulary and expressions: consist of, be divided into, clarify, break away, convenience, attractions, break away. B. Ability aims: Enable the students to learn the general commons about the UK under the guidance of the teacher. And make them have a better understanding of the United Kingdom. To develop the students autonomous learning ability, cooperative and investigative learning abilities. Encourage the students to talk out what they know about the UK and Ireland. C.Emotional aims: Help the students to expand their horizon by learning more historical and cultural information of the UK. Arouse the students’ interest in learning more about the main western countries in the world. Form the students consciousness of cross culture communication. 四.
