The Research Progress of Dendrimer Zhai Qianqian, Zhao Shigui (School of Materials Science and Engineering, Shandong University, Jinan 250061, China) Abstract: dendrimer is a kind of macromolecules of nanometer and monodisperse , it has a wide range of applications in many fields because of its unique molecular struct -ure and physical chemical properties. In this paper, the definition, structure, properti -es, synthesis, characterization and application of the dendrimer were discussed.Keywords: Dendrimer; Synthesis; Characterization; application Dendrimer is a new type of synthetic polymer, which is booming now. it is a kind of macromolecules having dendritic and highly branched structure obtained by progressively repeated reaction from branched primitives(such as multi-functional group-containing monomer), Figure 1, it has a very structured and fine structure and a large number of terminal functional groups, there are cavities inside the molecular, the volume and shape of the molecular, and the growth of the molecular chain and the functional group can be precisely controlled, the typical molecular is spherical, the size of this molecule breakthroughs the traditional boundaries of small organic molecules, this nanometer molecule is composed of a single molecule.
