For most students in the college, though they have worked as a tutor, they seldom have the opportunity to teach a whole class. The teaching practicum provides such a chance for the students to train their teaching techniques and apply the education theories into practice field. Key words: professional relationship; student teachers; teaching practicum, mentor teachers Introduction This paper is to have a little research on the professional relationship establishment between the student teachers and the public schools. It contains the relationship between the university and the school, the student teachers and the mentor teacher. The teaching practicum is considered one of the most influential aspects of pre-service teacher education Guyton, 1989; Haigh, 2001 . It provides a real situation and stage for the mentor teacher to apply what they have learned in University to the exact teaching in high school. It also offers the student teachers the “experience to gain knowledge of how teachers go about the many and complex tasks involved in actual classroom practice” McGee, Ferrier-Kerr, Miller, 2001, p.1 . It is important for the student teachers to establish professional relationships with the school, including the management leaders, your cooperating teacher, and other novice and senior teachers. The author thinks the decisive factor for my success of teaching practicum is because the author had paid more attention to establish a professional relationship with the school.
