Albert Neubert Albert Neubert: prominent German translation theorist, Chair of English Translation at the University of Leipzig, co-founder of the influential Leipzig School, CERN Chair of Translation at Leuven University. He is insightful and anticipating. He helped to establish the widespread movement to introduce formal and empirical rigor into translation studies. He helped to found the Institute for Applied Linguistics at Kent State University, now a center for American translation studies. Albert Neubert The University of Leipzig : is one of the oldest universities in Europe and the second-oldest university in Germany. It has a long tradition of globally oriented and culturally comparative historical research and tertiary-level teaching. Leipzig School: it is characterized by a linguistically-oriented, scientific approach of translation. It had made significant contributions to Translation Studies, and shed light on the German functionalism as well. Its theoretical framework: communication theory, linguistic concerning communicative correspondence, the intention of the commissioners and the test-linguistic approach.
