The bus and network technology for cluster building w ere also analyzed. An example demonstrated the construction process, and the performance testing w as performed by use of tw o program packages . The application of the cluster to practical problems demonstrates that the peak value of floating point arithmetic operation exceeds 60 % of the theoretical value, the measured data of bandw idth is close to the theoretical value, and the roundtrip latency is rather small if the data package is small . Moreover, with high performance of MPI environment , the eff ect of the computer cluster on accelerating the solution of practical problem s is outstanding.
