S T A T U T O R Y I N S T R U M E N T S 1997 No. 1508 MERCHANT SHIPPING The Merchant Shipping (Crew Accommodation) Regulations 1997 Made - - - - 9th June 1997 Laid before Parliament 20th June 1997 Coming into force - - 11th July 1997 The Secretary of State for Transport, after consulting with the organisations referred to in section 306(4) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995(1 and the persons referred to in section 86(4) of that Act, in exercise of powers conferred by sections 43, 85(1)(a), (3) and (5) to (7) and 86(1) of that Act, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations: PART I PRELIMINARY Citation, commencement and revocation 1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Crew Accommodation Regulations 1997 and shall come into force on 11th July 1997.
