Tech ,Coimb atore, Tam iln adu .,India 2 D ean , K .S.R .College of Engin eering, Tiru chengode, Tamiln adu , India A bstract : Z Source inverters have recently b een prop osed as an alternative p ower conversion concep t for adj u stab le sp eed A C drives (A SD ) with b oth voltage buck and b oost cap ab ilities as they allow inverters to b e op erated in the shoot through state . It utilizes an exclu sive Z – source network (LC comp onent) to link the m ain inverter circuit to the p ower source (rectifier) . By controlling the shoot-through duty cycle, the inverter system u sing IGB T S, provide ride- through cap ab ility durin g v oltage sags, reduces the line harm onics, improves p ower factor , increases reliab ility and extends output voltage range. A dv an ced and Computation-inten sive Sp ace vector Pulse W idth M odulation (SV PW M ) Z-source inverter b ased approach is prop osed in this p ap er . SV PW M allow s the op eration of inverter in Over m odu lation region . P ossib ly, it is the b est among all the PW M techniques for variab le sp eed app lication s.
