Methods The strains of S . aureus, A . baumannii and P. aerug inosa were isolated from deep enous catheter. After these strains w ere culti at ed for 2 4 h, 48 h, 72 h and 5 day s, the format ion of bacterial biofilms w as studied by confocal laser scanning microscopy ( CLSM ) and modified microtiter plate test. Results S. aureus, A . baumannii and P. aeruginos a strains could form biofilms effecti ely. The charact eristics of their biofilms w ere different . Conclusions CLSM and modified microtiterplate test are useful tools for in estigating t he bacte rial biofilm formation.
