The so rces of the nitrate in gro ndwater were determined by sing the nitrogen isotope method. The impacts of h man ac tivities s ch as gro ndwater exploitation and discharging contaminant on the acc m lation of nitrate were disc ssed. The monitoring data shows that the poll tion in rban area is m ch more serio s than that of the r ral area. The comparison of changes of nitrate concentration and hardness indicates that there is a relationship between the nitrogen poll tion and the increasing of other compo nds, b t nitrogen compo nds have their own characteristics on migration and transformation and acc m lation in different hydrochemical environment.
