The test results show ed that the occurrence of the plastic hin e is postponed by the increase in R PPC at the middle span and betw een the intermediate supports, and that the reinforcement ratio had si nificant influence on the shape of M- U curve. A formula proposed to calculate the len th of the plastic hin e zone in PPC continuous beams w ith varied sections and different R PPC . T he simplicity and practicability of the formula w as validated w ith the test results.
