However, the very large MCR space of 1020 is only explored marginally. Future research in the area of MCRs will include the discovery and design of novel MCRs, combinations of MCRs and traditional reactions, experimental improvements in solid-and liquid-phase, enantio-and diastereo-selective variations, and more and more applications in drug discovery, material science, bioconjugates, and agrochemical compounds.
