Abstract: Based on the downhole complicated conditions analysis of deep wells and ultra-deep wells in Kuche re ion, and compre-
hensively considerin the influence factors, such as formation litholo y and formation pressure, the probability density function of
downhole complicated conditions was determined usin the ex istin data by the probable theory method. Meanw hile, the position
and possibility of downholecomplicated conditions occurrence was derived, and the new determination method on settin position for
casin pro ram was put forward. The practical application results show that it is feasible and effective to determine the downhole
complicated conditions by the probable theory method. The determination principle of settin position in casin pro ram desi n is
not sole, and the desi ner should make ones choice based on the experiences and actual conditions.
