China 200092 【Abstract】　　Objective　To conduct the in vitro test on drug release of rifam pin encapsulated in a carrier made of porous phosphate glass ceramics and to analyze main factors which affect th e drug release rate. Metho s　 A certain uantitative of rifampin w as sealed in a hollow cylindrical capsule w hich consisted of chopped calcium phosphate crystal . fiber obtained from glass crystallization The rifampin concent ration w as measured in the simulated physiological solu- tion in which the capsule soaked. Results　Rifam pin could be released in a constant rate f rom the porous glass ceramic carrier in a long time. The release rate w as dependent on the si ze of crystal fiber and th e wall thickness of the capsule.
