School of Materials Science And Engineering, Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan 430070, China Abstract: According to the operation condition of the coal-fired units and the material selection and design of the FRP chimney that commonly used in domestic, also based on the effective engineering test data and the regulations about the safety factor of GRP liners, the specific relationship of the safety factor of FRP chimney between the dispersivity of the material and the design temperature had been verified in this article. The results show that when the FRP chimney is operated within the temperature 80 ,the numerical value of A3 calculated by the computational formula in the GRP regulations is a little higher ,which could be lowered appropriately. For the rigidity calculation, the average value of the modulus to the basis value calculated by the formula 3 is around 1:2,the ratio of A1 is 1/1.2,therefore the real safety factors got by above two value designs is close. For the strength calculation, the average value of the strength to the basis value calculated by the formula 3 is around 1:3,the ratio of A1 is 1/1.2,as a result the real safety factor got
