Circulating Fluidized Boiler Drying Procedure I. The Purpose of Boiler Drying Most parts of CFB boiler are lined with refractory materials and enclosed with insulation materials which are installed at site blending with a certain quantity of water. In the process of heating, if the water composition inside the refractory and insulation materials is evaporated massively and rapidly, the pressure formed inside the refractory and insulation materials may override the material binding force so as to crack the refractory and insulation materials even leading to collapse of liner and enclosure in a large area. So drying of refractory and insulation materials namely boiler drying is important step in the commissioning of new-built CFB boiler. The quality of the boiler drying directly affect the lifetime of the refractory and reliability of the CFB boiler. The target of boiler drying: In order to avoid rapid evaporation of water composition leading to crack or damage of boiler wall, it must be observed making the water composition inside the refractory evaporate and get out the refractory and insulation materials slowly and gradually until sufficient dryness. After get rid of the water composition of refractory, continue heating to a certain temperature, make refractory material solidify sufficiently to keep refractory high temperature intensity and stability, improve the intensity of the refractory layer. Make refractory layer expand uniformly, slowly and adequately, avoid refractory thermal force concentrating and expanding unevenly inflicting damage of the refractory layer.
