Methods:F fty- four pat en ts w th HCC w ere recru ted and prospect ve ly fo llow ed up. Stag ng w as perform ed a t the base l ne u s ng the C IS, O kuda, TNM and CL IP sys- tem s. Surv va l curves w ere plotted w th the kaplan-m e er m ethod and w e re compared by u s ng a log-rank test. A mu lt var ate ana lys s on 4 stag ng system s w as perform ed u s ng a Coxs reg ress on m ode l to den t fy ndependent prognost c factor. Results:The C IS sco re w as ab le to pred ct surv va l better than the Okuda or TNM stag ng system, as conf rm ed by the kaplan-m e er com pa r son o f surv val curves and by the Coxs reg ress on analys s, w th a m ed an surv val rate o f 90, 23, 21 and 06 months n pat ents w th CIS 2, 3, 4 and 5, respect vely.
