The adaptability of some exoti turfgrass varieties in sub-tropi al zone(Guangzhou)w as studied. The results indi ated that Ameri an bentgrass varieties of Mirage, Pyramid, J61BG279 and Del.Sol had a good adaptability and law n value with old resistan e, parti ularly for Mirage and J6 1BG279 w hi h w ere suitable to establish the upper lass sport turf.All tall fes ues performed well both in spring and winter but over-summering hardly.The performan e grades of tall fes ue w ere, Amalia from Fran e ex ellent, Co hise from Denmark and Vegas from Holland good, DP7952 from Denmark and Barefelix, Barbizon, Barlexus from Holland fair.It is suggested that some tall fes ues varieties ould be oversow n in w inter in the south China or used as highway and urbans green fields.The re- sults also show ed that sow ing in late summer and early autumn had benefits both on Bermudagrass lawn qui kly establishing and tall fes ue law n easily over-summering in the oming year.
