An Analysis of Scarlett’s Character Abstract：Gone with the Wind is the classic of American female writer Margaret Mitchell. The novel mainly describes the life of Scarlett, who is the daughter of Tara’s master during the American Civil War. The novel shows a wide, prosperous picture of the Social life of the south in America. Among all the characters, Scarlett, is the most successful one. This paper will examine the rebellious, brave, and unyielding aspects of the merits and the blind, selfish, speculative aspects of the defects in her character, which shows the extreme complexity of her personality.
