Till now there are 10 foreign companies and over 1000 foreign offices. 2001：The number of freight forwarding company which has MOFTEC’s license is about 2100, among them, joint companies is 500, foreign companies is 10；also there are more than 5000 secondary agents, 1000 foreign offices without licenses. Market competition is very intensive, share is scattered. Freight forwarding can be divided into 3 parts: Business, Documentation and Operations. The companies without licenses cannot enter Operations part, but have considerable market share in other two parts The international public freight forwarding companies with global network, such as Panalpina entered China only to service their international clients. They prefer to utilize the local network, and play as information service provider to local freight forwarding agents. More than 5000 secondary agents only doing Business Part without licenses exist in China’s freight forwa
