Most existing approaches are based on t raditional IR technologies , in which document s are modeled as bag of words. The aut hor s identify t he difficulties of t hese technologies in processing RDF document s , namely , preserving data st ruct ures , p rocessing linked data and generating snippet s. An approach is proposed to model t he semantic Web document f rom it s abst ract syntax : RDF grap h. In t his approach , a document is modeled as a set of RDF sentences. It preserves the RDF sentence2based st ruct ures in t he processes of document analyzing and indexing. The aut horitative descriptions of named resources are also int roduced and it enables t he linked data across document boundaries to be searchable. Furt hermore , to help users quickly determine whether one result is relevant or not , The t raditional inver se index st ructure is extended to enable more under standable snippet ext raction f rom matched document s. Experiment s on real world data show that t his approach can significant ly imp rove t he precision and recall of semantic Web document search. The precision at top one result is improved up to 19 % and a steady improvement ( near 10 %) is observed. According to 50 random queries , t he recall increases up to 60 % averagely.
