Rescue Plan Confined Spaces, Work at HeightActivities Removal of temporary stiffeners and cutting / grinding inside Dried ORE Silo Area Met Plant Line 2 Rescue Plan Prepared by:Yang Bu Nian Date:12/07/2011IntroductionThis rescue plan includes the emergency procedures for working in confine space and work at height Brief description of work to be performedCut out the temporary stiffeners supports Buff grind cutting surface Inside equipment: In order to perform the work a secure scaffolding, working platform access ladders will have previously been erected by others (Kaefer company)Outside equipment: Scaffolding will be erected by others (Kaefer Company) for material lifting and emergency access exit Any scaffolding is erected, modified or dismantled by Kaefer.Description of rescue methodology At each manholes an emergency descriptive sign with essential information such as: Area – Level – Name of the vessel - emergency Phone No + all No’s of CMIIC HSE manager responsible – Drawing (including sketch) of access / exit manholes and scaffolding PROCEDURE FOR EMERGENCY AND RESCUEDue to the nature of the confined space, all rescue’s from the confined space will require physical entry by an outside person / persons except in the event where the injured employee inside the confined space can safely exit the confined space by himself without outside assistance.In the unlikely event that an assisted rescue should be required from the confines of the work area than the following actions should be instigated: NOTE: ENTRY INTO A CONFINED SPACE TO STABILISE AN INJURED WORKER WILL ONLY OCCUR IF THE RISK ASSESSMENT HAS INDICATED THAT THE CONFINED SPACE IS “LOW RISK”. Isolate any power supply to the inside of the confined spaceExcept for low voltage lighting Continue to / try to make contact with the employee inside the duct. Alert the on ERT if unable to contact the worker or if worker requires medical assistance (beyond first aid) Call for immediate assistance from trained
