Looksaregivenfartoomuchimportanceinoursociety.Womenaresupposedtolookperfectallthetime.Weresupposedtoidolize(崇拜)celebritieswhohavefarmoretimeandmoneytospendontheirappearancethantheaverageperson.Itssimplynotattainable.

Ilovetheideaofbodypositivity.Ifirmlybelievethateveryoneshouldtrytolovethemselvesasmuchaspossible.However,itsalmostimpossibletoloveeverypartofyourbodyallthetime.Personally,Icouldneverachievethat.Itsagoodideatopromotebodypositivityintheory,butitalsoallowsustobeatourselvesupbecausewedontloveourselvesallthetime.

Bodyneutrality(中立)isamuchmoreattainablegoal.Bodyneutralitypromotestheideathatyourbodyissimplyyourbodyinsteadofthinkingsomethingisgoodorbad.Thismentalityiseasiertoachieve,anditdoesntforceyoutotrytolovethingsyoudontlove.Wedontneedtoloveeverypartofourbody—itsjustabody.

Anotherwaytoviewyourbodyistobethankfulforeverythingthatitdoesforyouratherthanhowitlooks.Forexample,IamgratefulthatmybodyallowsmetogoskiingbecauseIloveskiing.Thisshiftinmentalitycanbehelpfulbecauseitfocusesonyourbodysabilitytodothingsyoulove,insteadofyourappearance.

Ultimately,theidealmentalityislovingeverypartofyourbodyallthetime.However,themorerealisticalternativeisacceptingyourbodyforwhatitisandwhatitdoesforyou.Lovecancomeafter,butneutralityisagoodplacetostart.
