EventDataRecorders

Thisvehicleisequippedwithaneventdatarecorder(EDR).

ThemainpurposeofanEDRistorecord,incertaincrashornear

crash-likesituations,suchasanairbagdeploymentorhittinga

roadobstacle,datathatwillassistinunderstandinghowavehicle’s

systemsperformed.TheEDRisdesignedtorecorddatarelated

tovehicledynamicsandsafetysystemsforashortperiodof

time,typically30secondsorless.TheEDRinthisvehicleis

designedtorecordsuchdataas:

•Howvarioussystemsinyourvehiclewereoperating;

•Whetherornotthedriverandpassengersafetybeltswere

buckled/fastened;

•Howfar(ifatall)thedriverwasdepressingtheaccelerator

and/orbrakepedal;and,

•Howfastthevehiclewastraveling.

ThesedatacanhelpprovideabetterunderstandingoftheServiceDiagnosticRecorders

circumstancesinwhichcrashesandinjuriesoccur.NOTE:EDRdataThisvehicleisequippedwithservice-relateddevicesthatrecord

arerecordedbyyourvehicleonlyifanon-trivialcrashsituationinformationaboutpowertrainperformance.Thedatacanbeused

occurs;nodataarerecordedbytheEDRundernormaldrivingtoverifyemissionslawrequirementsand/orhelptechnicians

conditionsandnopersonaldata(e.g.,name,gender,age,anddiagnoseandsolveserviceproblems.Itmayalsobecombinedwith
