valuesareundersiege.

nottofallintothe“notasbadas”trap.Highunemploymentisn’tO.K.justbecauseithasn’thit

1933levels;ominouspoliticaltrendsshouldn’tbedismissedjustbecausethere’snoHitlerinsight.

Let’stalk,inparticular,aboutwhat’shappeninginEurope—notbecausealliswellwithAmerica,

butbecausethegravityofEuropeanpoliticaldevelopmentsisn’twidelyunderstood.

Firstofall,thecrisisoftheeuroiskillingtheEuropeandream.Thesharedcurrency,whichwas

supposedtobintionstogether,hasinsteadcreatedanatmosphereofbitteracrimony.
