为保障工程顺利实施，人们是需修建的道路、房屋等各种临时建筑物、构筑物等设施，叫做临时工程。施工场地布置的主要是学习这些临时工程的施工。

隧道在穿山越岭时，其洞口施工场地一般比较狭窄，经常会有“地无三尺平”的现象。
