The main contents of this course are to lead students to read this book carefully and to guide students to understand the main problems and the methods of arguing of modern Western political philosophy. Firstly, the course explains the historical background and debate opponents of this book, analyzes the relationship between Lockes political philosophy and its epistemology, moral philosophy and pedagogy. Secondly, through focusing on this book’s demonstration thought, we analyze Lockes contract theory and the concepts of ownership, and explain the connection between Lock and Hobbes, Rousseau and Kant, furthermore, we describe his impact on contemporary politics philosophers, such as Rawls, Nozick and so on. Third, the course leads everyone to read the other chapters of Second Treatise of Government, analyze Locke’s concepts such as political society, government power, and political obligations, so that we can understand Lockes impact on contemporary political ph
