PAGE PAGE 25 《爱玛》中的人物形象比较分析 摘要:简·奥斯汀是英国著名女性小说家。她的代表作《爱玛》是19世纪最有影响的经典小说之一,是奥斯汀作品中艺术上思想上最成熟的一部。《爱玛》主要讲述了主人公爱玛·伍德豪斯认识自身并逐渐抛开幻想的过程。小说自出版以来,各国学者从小说的主题、写作技巧、女性主义思想、人物性格等角度对其进行了深刻解读与研究。相对而言,通过几个人物对比研究主人公形象的成果较少。本文以小说女主人公爱玛为焦点,与哈丽埃特、菲尔费克斯和奈特利进行人物形象对比分析,旨在更加全面地认识该小说中的女主人公形象。 关键词:简·奥斯汀;爱玛;人物形象 A Comparative Analysis of the Images in Emma Abstract: Jane Austen (1775-1817) is a famous British female novelist. Her masterpiece, Emma, is one of the most influential classic novels in the 19th century. It is the most mature novel on art and thought of Austen. Emma narrates the process of Emma woodhouse’s self-cognition and gradually throwing away fantasy. Since it published, critics from all around the world have analyzed it from different angles such as theme, writing technique, feminism and character. Comparatively, there are fewer studies on the heroine’s image through comparing with several other characters. This paper focus on the heroine and comparative analyses her with Harriet, Fairfax and Knightley, aiming at having a better understanding of the image of its heroine. She has made a great achievement in British literature. And many critics, including Thomas Babington Macaulay and Edmund Wilson praise Austen that she is as good as William Shakespeare. 1.1 About Jane Austen and Her Work Austen was born in Steventon, Hampshire. Her father was knowledgeable and served as the rector of the Anglican parishes, while her mother was also a well-educated woman. Therefore, Austen had not received a formal education, but that superior family and learning environment promoted her a self-learning condition and writing ability. She began writing when she was just about thirteen, fully showing her talent for literature, as well as language expression.
