PAGE PAGE 27 比较《弗兰肯斯坦》与美剧《断头谷》中的父子关系 摘要：英国女性作家玛丽?雪莱的科幻小说《弗兰肯斯坦》自出版之日起就受到了学界的关注，褒贬不一，评论角度也呈现多样化的特点。尽管中国对这部小说的研究不少，但是还有很多未开发或开发不完全的研究领域。美剧《断头谷》讲述了沉睡多年的乔治华盛顿部下对抗复活的无头骑士过程中的亲情纠葛。本文将从父子关系角度出发将《弗兰肯斯坦》与美剧《断头谷》做比较，分父子关系平和期、冲突期和恢复期三个阶段来比较两部作品，试图从不同的角度来理解《弗兰肯斯坦》中两位主人公的性格与关系变化。 关键词：弗兰肯斯坦；断头谷；父子关系；比较法 A Comparison Between Frankenstein and Sleepy Hollow Abstract: Since the publication of English writer Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, great attention has been aroused in the academics and the readers and the novel has gained critiques from various kinds of angles. In China, scholars have done many researches on this work, but there are still areas left unexplored or incompletely explored. This paper will compare Frankenstein and American TV series Sleepy Hollow from the angle of father-and-son relationship and from three aspects: peaceful period, conflicting period and recovery period of father-and-son relationship. As a consequence, relationship between the two heroes in Frankenstein can be better understood. The Novel Frankenstein: Or, The Modern Prometheus Frankenstein is Mary Shelley’s first novel, as well as the first science fiction recognized all over the world. Through four letters, this novel describes a Swiss doctor Frankenstein’s struggling life. After learning the knowledge of life science and in order to satisfy his own desire, he assembles various parts of human bodies together in order to create an elegant and tall living creature, but ends up producing a “monster”. This creature, though ugly looking, has a pure heart and wishes to get along with human beings harmoniously. However, the reality is that people hate, curse and beat him due to his appearance, which causes him to become a real monster, slaughtering and murdering.
