IELTSWriting TASK1 04 You should spend about 20 minutes on thistask. The tablebelow showsthe percentage use of four differentfueltypes to generate electricitiyn fiveAsian countriesin 2005. Summarise the informationby selectingand reportingthemain features,and make comparisons where relevant. The tableshows differentsources of fuelforproducing electricitaynd their percentageuse in fiveAsian countriesin 2005. Generally,the fivecountries showed a significantdifferencein theirpatternsof consumption. Taking nuclearfuelfirstJ,apan had the highestpercentage at49%, with South Koreasecond at33%. In marked contrast,Thailand used no nuclearpower atall.Turning to Coal and Lignite,Malaysia and Singapore used thisto generatea largeproportionof theirelectricit(y61% and 42%respectively), a much higher percentage than the remaining countries. Regarding Petroleum products,Thailand produced 36%of itselectricity from thissource.In comparison, the othercountriesonly generated 3% or lessof theirelectricitfyrom thisfuel.However, Hydro and Wind reveal anotherpatternwith South Koreaproducing almost halfof itselectricity (48%) thisway (over twice as high as Thailand which had the second highestpercentage at19%). Finally,a significantamount wasproduced from othersourceswith threecountries(Singapore,Thailand and Japan) generatingaround 40%of theirelectricitfyrom otherfuels.Overall,itcan be seen thattherewasa significantvariationin whichfuelscountriesused to generatetheirelectricity.
