According the statistic, the increase of air cargo is much faster than the increase of air passenger. Air cargo has become important profit resource for airlines. China Eastern Airlines is one of the three biggest airline groups. It is in shanghai, and CEA engaged in air cargo early. In 1998, CEA set up the earliest cargo airlines, and acquired a good situation. But in the same time, China civil aviation is opening, especially the open of Shanghai fifth aviation right. Many large cargo airlines have come to Shanghai and bring huge competition pressure to CEA. In this condition, how can air cargo of CEA hold the choice and get improvement? This is a important problem for air cargo of CEA. Foreword introduced the whole position about cargo of China Civil Aviation and China Eastern Group and air cargo system of CEA. Part Two introduced the development trend and characters, and analysed air cargo of the world and of China. Through the analysis, it summarized current problems in China air cargo. Part Three analysed exterior environment, including economy, society, technology, industry policies, marketing competition. Part Four lucubrated background, predominance, market share, and summarized the successful experience about foreign good cargo airlines. Part Five put forward strategy for cargo development of CEA by SWOT model. The author is work in the industry of China Civil Aviation and become aware of the large difference between abroad and domestic. The author hope that this article is constructive for China air cargo.
