Check if in the mesh is free of Neg-Jac elements If you select Volumes, you can check materials and their volumes Min-Max allows you to check minimal and maximal dimensions In Geometry press symmetry Select rotational Enter the axe of rotation (for this example it’s y axis) Enter the number of sectors that are necessary to describe the complete volume You can check if the symmetry is well applied in Boundary Conditions/Assign Surface For each material select the type of material and set it empty or not Select the material of your choice in the material DB list Interface In case of a COINC mesh, switch all interfaces from EQUIV to COINC (except in case two domains would belong to the casting). Add Heat condition for side walls of die (select by Propagate-Select and Store) Select Air_cooling heat condition Add a Pressure BC for inlet (select by Propagate-Select and Store) Create Pressure condition and build a pressure ramp according to your process (time dependent) Because pressure and temperature condition share the same surface,you can copy it Select Pressure press Copy, select Temperature press Paste and Store it Create Temperature BC and set the pouring temperature Set the right direction for gravity Set initial temperatures for each material From the Pre-Defined Run Parameters select LPDC Filling Set the stopping criterion based upon Final Temperature in order to end the calculation as soon as all casting temperature nodes are below this criterion (better control of the calculation) Optimize, save and exit PreCAST Run ProCAST Open V
