Electronic Waste Legislation and Related Issues in China ABSTRACT For the sake of promoting the recycle and reuse of electronic waste, the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Information Industry, the State Environmental Protection Administration and related departments have drawn up a series of laws and regulations on this issue. However, the electronic waste legislation in China is far from being satisfactory according to the current management. This paper attempts to discuss electronic waste legislation and related issues in China based on electronic waste legislation both at home and abroad. Some foreign references are supposed to aid China’s legislation on electronic waste issue. Using the method of interpretation of law, comparative analysis and historical analysis, this paper expounds how to improve the electronic waste legislation and related issues in China. The whole dissertation consists of four parts. Part One summarizes China’s electronic waste legislation including its legislation background and proceedings, particularly focusing on the relevant laws of the electronic waste at present. Part Two provides an overview on electronic waste legislation and its advantage in foreign countries.
