Work together in group of four and act out the actions which show the story in the listening passage. 2. How to improve the students’ writing ability. Teaching methods教学方法 Listening and cooperative learning. Teaching aids 教具准备 A multi-media computer, a recorder and the tape. Teaching procedures and ways教学过程与方式 Step 1?? T: Ask Ss: There are many different ways to communicate with someone using spoken language. How many ways can you think of communicating with someone if you can’t speak? Ss: Discuss the given question with desk mates. T: Make some gestures for Ss to guess what they mean. Ss: Discuss with desk mates what the teacher means. T: Ask Ss to work in pairs to show and guess the gesture. Ss: One show some gestures, the other guess the meaning. Step 2 T: Ask Ss to listen again and put the pictures in correct order according to the time when they happened. Ss: listen to the tape again. After listening once, they show their answers. T: Instruct them how to take notes about what Lin Pu, the cyclist and the policeman say and do. Ss: For the second time, students take notes about what Lin Pu, the cyclist and the policeman say and do while listening. After listening, Ss tell what they say and do. T: Ask Ss to use some verb phrases or sentences to describe each picture
