ABSTRACTWith ABSTRACT With maximization and complexity of the rectifiers,the fault diagnosis and maintenance of rectifiers become more and more complex. It also has more and more higher requirement,for the technical level of maintenance worker.Thus,it is important to apply in the remote maintenance technology,for improving operation efficiency and ensuring safe operation. 111e main research is as follows: 1)A general design scheme of remote maintenance system in large rectifiers is proposed under the information integrated GPRS/SMS/Intemet environment.In the local maintenance,the system is responsible for data collection,monitor and simple fault diagnosis based on C/S mode.In the remote maintenance,the system is responsible for data exchange,complex fault diagnosis,expert consultation,remote maintenance and management of equipments through the web server. 2)An fault diagnosis and maintenance expert system is developed based on frame—rule hybrid knowledge representation,considering various kinds of faults with wide-ranging distribution existed in large capacity rectifiers.The frame work is used to represent designability and descriptive knowledge,the rule mode is used to represent process knowledge,and the mathematical mode is used to represent circuit fault knowledge.Binding of the knowledge representation and forward inference mechanism,Quick and high efficient fault diagnosis for rectifier at e carded out by the expert system,and expert—level maintenance recommendations are suggested. 3)For reducing maintenance costs in rectifiers and overcoming the flaw of system reliability neglected by Equal interval Preventive Maintenance(PM)models,A hybrid failure rate evolution rule Was developed based on the concept of age reduction factor and failure rate increase factor to predict the evolution of the system reliability in different maintenance phases.Based on comprehensive consideration of maj or overhaul costs,minor overhaul costs,a sequential prev
