When I returned home, I still could not forgive him for such behavior, thinking maybe he looked down on me because of my small savings or for being Chinese. Later I came to know that an American’s putting his feet on his desk shows he is comfortable. However, for Latin Americans or Asians, such behavior is rude and arrogant. Palm-in V sign: insulting in UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. An OK gesture In America, when things got done or a person gets ready, one makes this gesture. It also means permission, and everything goes on well. Among Arabs this gesture is usually accompanied by a baring of teeth, and together they signify extreme hostility. This same gesture is considered obscene in some Latin American countries and Germany. In France, it means zero. In Turkey, it means “I’ll kill you.” In Japan and Korea, it means “money”. Pointing to objects and pe
