* 女士们、先生们、朋友们： 我很高兴参加这次会议，并简要介绍中国的消除艾滋病歧视行动状况。自艾滋病发现以来，歧视一直伴随着艾滋病流行。歧视严重地影响感染者及其家庭成员过正常人的生活，也影响着人类同艾滋病作斗争。 Ladies, Gentlemen and Friends: I am pleased to participate in this meeting and to give you a brief introduction about activities in eliminating AIDS-stigma in China . Since the first case of HIV was detected, stigma has been associated with HIV/AIDS. This stigma seriously affects the lives of people with HIV and AIDS and their families. Stigmatization has also been a barrier to our efforts to fight against the spread of HIV. 歧视是一个世界范围的问题。在中国，歧视现象也是广泛存在的。虽然经过多年的努力，歧视现象有所减少，但仍是一个需要认真对待的重大问题。 HIV/AIDS-related stigma is a global issue and China is no exception. Through the efforts of many years, China has made significant progress to improve this situation, however, HIV/AIDS-related stigma still remain an important issues in responses to AIDS. * 今天，我想借此机会，从四个方面谈一谈中国政府所采取的与艾滋病歧视作斗争的策略和措施。这四个方面包括：政治承诺、法律法规、国家政策、宣传和动员。 I would like to use the time that I have been granted today to talk to you about the strategies and methods that Chinese government used to fight against HIV/AIDS-related stigma. Specifically, I want to discuss four aspects: political commitment, law enforcement, government policy, social marketing and community mobilization. * 政府坚定的承诺对于减少和消除艾滋病相关歧视至关重要。 The government’s firm commitment is very important for decreasing and eliminating HIV/AIDS-related stigma. 胡锦涛主席在佑安医院看望艾滋病病人时强调，全社会都要对艾滋病患者充满爱心，坚决消除各种歧视和隔阂，广泛开展多种形式的关怀救助活动，伸出援助之手，努力使每一个艾滋病患者都感受到社会主义大家庭的温暖。 When President Hu Jingtao visited AIDS patients in Youan Hospital, he stressed that the whole nation should be full of love for HIV/AIDS patients. Chinese people should have the determination to eliminate HIV/AIDS-related stigma and discrimination and should initiate many kinds of care programs to help those infected with HIV.
