Vehicle exhaust emissions has became one of the main reasons for environmental pollution while oil and other non-renewable resources are constantly exhausted. Now development of all-electric-powered vehicles has become an effective way to solve the above problems. But, development of EV still faces many problems such as battery-powered endurance, efficiency of the drive motor, dynamic and static control features, and so on. Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) is used as a driving motor. By analysing constant torque and flux-weakening control strategy of IPMSM, an anti-torque constant disturbance torque control strategy and independent of motor parameters’ weakening control scheme that can improve the dynamic performance and robust performance are proposed. Simulation and experimental results of the two control strategy proposed are presented and tested to verify the validity of the theoretical analysis. Firstly, the thesis research the ideal driving characteristics of EV and built the mathematical model of IPMSM in the synchronous rotating coordinate system. On the basis of this mathematical model and the driving characteristics, the best electric vehicle control strategy of IPMSM is proposed, including the constant torque control strategy and the weakening control strategy above base speed field. Simulation model of those is established, which provide the theoretical basis to achieve the best control strategy of EV. Secondly, research on constant torque control algorithm of IPMSM. MTPA which can achieve a minimum copper loss is analyzed and studied, a segmented second-order fitting MTPA is implemented. Meanwhile, in order to meet the frequent starting.of EV, intelligent PI speed regulator is introduced. Using simulation software
