Prescriptions are the main form of TCM. In order to develop the advantages of TCM, it is necessary to clarify the effective substances of TCM by means of modern science and technology. In this paper, the method of the pharmacodynamics study and the fingerprint study of Angelica Sinensis and Astragali and Angelica mixture was adopted to study the chemical changes of all components, pharmacological changes and the effective compounds in the compatibility. In the first chapter, the effective material basis of TCM and its powerful tool- fingerprint were summed up. In the second chapter, the research work studied initial pharmacodynamics and the fingerprint of Angelica Sinensis. In the pharmacodynamics study of Angelica Sinensis, having established the blood deficient model by injecting cyclophosphamide into mice’s lumbar and phenylhydrazine hydrochloride under mice’s skin, we adopted the method of RBC content and HGB content to observed the improvement of ethanol extract from Radix Angelica Sinensis (ER) and water extract from Radix Angelica Sinensis (WR) on the mice. As a result, both the content of RBC and the content of HGB increased in the groups of ER and WR on blood deficience in mice; In the fingerprint study of Angelica Sinensis, we established a high performance liquid chromatography fingerprint method with Diode Array Detection for the simultaneous determination of ethanol extract and water extract from Radix Angelica Sinensis. Though being significantly diffient, the HPLC fingerprint of ethanol extract of Radix Angelica Sinensis and water extract from Radix Angelica Sinensis also had some the same peaks, which would be the effectiv
