It is not only relate to economic development, social stability, the masses’ life, but also have a profound impact on the citys overall traffic and its development patterns. Transit fare is an important component of its operation and management. Facing huge construction fund as well as passenger transportation competition, the fare whether reasonable or not has become the key for the survival and development of public transit. To make a reasonable fare must take full account of all the influencing factors of the public transportation fare. But there are many influencing factors, both qualitative and quantitative factors. Thus, how to quantify these factors as far as possible, and establish a scientific and effective public transport fare model has an important significance. This paper firstly discussed public transport pricing at home and abroad. From that, it was found that the influencing factors are not all considered. Then analyzed the characteristics, developing strategies, formulate principles, making forms. And on this basis, the paper roundly analyzed the influencing factors, explored the fare model under the single fare and the metered fare. Then introduced how to deal with them, proposed the pricing multifactor model of public transport for the first time. Combined with the actual situation of Wuhan, the influencing factors were dealt with by principal component analysis, which made 16 strong correlative factors into four explained variables. To sum up, five main factors were identified eventually. Then they were quantified using the regression analysis, and the multifactor pricing model was calculated. Finally, Wuhan city’s public transport fare was forecasted in 2010, and the fare was tested.
