Shaanxi water source is an important one in the middle route in the South-to-Nort h Water Transfer Project. Natural geologica l structure and physiognomic characteristics in southem Shaanxi lead to serious soil and water loss in this area. The research of soil and water conservation comprehensive harnessing and basic benefit of the middle route in the South-to-North Water Transfer Project has impo民ant theoretical and practical significance for the soil and water conservatio n decision-making ，investment and water quality protection. The paper is based on the projects of the ecological compensation and basic benefit of the middle route in the South-to-North Water Transfer Project water source area.
